Racism resides in Peekskill New York

An anti-racism group said it is working to undo what they call a pervasive racist climate in Peekskill following information that some city employees are being treated unfairly and called the n word.
The Cortlandt Peekskill Anti Racist Collaborative was contacted by longtime activist Darrell Davis who claims that at least 10 African-American employees have come to him complaining of working under hostile conditions. The group headed by Tracy Edelman and Jim Edler said they are not interested in discussing specific cases but are looking to educate city leaders on “white privilege” and “institutional and structural racism.”
The collaborative has asked City Council members and the city manager to read essays pertaining to white privilege and invited them to attend an “Undoing Racism” workshop.
City administrators have called their claims unfounded.
